After the 2004 Asian Tsunami, the College Council want to do something positive to help the people of the area. Through various fundraising, the College has sponsored the build of a new nursery in Sri Lanka through the Shiva Charity. The nursery is now open and images of the nursery and the students attending can be viewed here.
Rachel will be leading assemblies next week to discuss the new nursery and explain how our link with the them will continue in the future.

What a fantastically practical way of helping the people of Sri Lanka via your fundraising. How wonderful to actually be able to see a new building named after your school and funded by you.
I am particularly interesetd as a former pupil of mine is heading out to Sri Lanka over the summer to do some voluntary work with disabled children. She is studying to be a primary school teacher.I will email her a link to this article and photos.
Well done everyone a great example to the rest of us.

Thanks Meg, Rachel did an excellent presentation to students, which I’ll ask her to put on the blog.
